Before I was presented with this topic I had a very minimal knowledge as well as appeal towards this topic. Yet as I researched more I realized that not only is this a growing issue but its one that can really affect anyone. In most cases (where there isn't a motive) journalists as well as citizens are victimized. Although this growing problem hasn't seemed to pose too much of an immediate alarming threat to US citizens on US soil, whose to say that if this problem isn't addressed soon it wont spread to countries around us eventually leaking into the US.
The idea of intolerance towards journalists to me is wrong plain and simple. Why attack people that are only trying to protect citizens and help provide them with the information necessary to be free and self-governing?
As I kept researching this Global issue became more and more interesting to me, one in which I might stick with and keep learning more about into the future.
I am also finding that the more I blog the more I like it. Its a great opportunity to not only expand on my knowledge on certain topics but it also gives me a chance to get opinions off my chest in a public forum. Basically utilizing my right to have a voice. I believe this project has helped open my eyes to the possibility of becoming a journalist.
